So you love fashion, but you hate crowds? There is a solution. On the weekends of September 11 and 18, Governors Island is hosting "Pioneers of Change," a festival of Dutch design, architecture and fashion. With such unconventional features as a knitting session with 6-foot needles, a collaboration between the New School and fashion collective, Painted, and an interactive mechanical instillation called the “Tickle Salon” (yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like), the festival promises to be a tantalizing conceptual extravaganza.
