How To Wear: Owlita Earrings

I am very fond of accessories- colorful, simple and even feathered. So when I stumbled upon a picture of these yellow earrings, I had no clue who made them (let alone how I'd wear them).

I have fairly long hair so I like to make sure it doesn't cover up a pair of beautiful earrings like these. I knew that if I bought them, I'd most likely wear them with my hair pulled back in a bun. But, what clothing would I pair with it? All Black? Boring.  That's when I did research and found these two pictures.

I guess the overall tip is that there are no rules with earrings like this. You just have to rock them & let 'em shine on their own. I do like the idea of mixing it with a print for some funk, but also pairing them with basics to make the look more polished.

Do you like feather earrings? How would you wear these?

If you like what you see, head over to www.owlita.com for their full collection- they even make custom earrings now!

Eco Friendly Jewelry

I'm an accessory fiend and that is no secret! However, I never knew I could buy ecological jewelry that didn't consist of hemp. I didn't think to place 'repurposed' jewelry into that category, but it makes tons of sense! With that said, I'm very happy to introduce you to Elva Fields & Rebekah Green- two designers that are helping the planet through their eco friendly (and super cute) jewelry lines.

Elva Fields Jewelry (pictured above) prides itself on repurposing vintage materials and unused family heirlooms. The results are fantastic! (Available at elvafields.com, $196)

Rebekah Green keeps it chic and simple with pieces made of recycled gold and fair trade gemstones.

Available at rebekahgreen.com, $30-$435
